Privacy policy
Effective October 12, 2026
This policy explains what information the MRK Hosting customer portal (the "Portal") collects, how it is used and
who it is shared with. The Portal is operated by MRK Hosting, a sole proprietorship registered in Illinois ("we",
"us").
Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash) and,
if you turn on two-factor sign-in, your authenticator secret.
- Customer information: the customer accounts you belong to and your role in each.
- Product information: the domain names, DNS records, hosting accounts, websites and databases
we provide to you, copied from the systems that run them.
- Billing information from QuickBooks Online: your QuickBooks customer id, name and billing
email, and your invoices (numbers, dates, amounts, balances, payment status and payment links). We do not receive
or store card or bank details; payments are entered on Intuit's pages.
- Activity records: a log of changes made through the Portal (who made them, when, and whether
they succeeded), and standard web server logs, which include IP addresses and requested URLs.
How we use it
- to sign you in and keep your account secure;
- to show you your products and carry out the changes you ask for;
- to invoice orders and renewals and to record payments;
- to email you about invitations, password resets, expiring domains and your requests;
- to investigate problems and misuse.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or use analytics or tracking tools in the Portal.
Who we share it with
We share information only as needed to provide the services you use:
- Intuit (QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Payments): customer names, billing emails and invoice
details, to issue invoices and accept payments. Intuit's privacy statement applies to what it processes.
- Cloudflare: domain and DNS details, to register domains and manage DNS.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our customers or us.
Cookies
The Portal uses only the cookies needed to sign you in and to protect forms against forgery. It does not use
advertising or analytics cookies.
Where it is stored and how it is protected
The Portal and its database run on servers we operate in the United States. Connections are encrypted with HTTPS,
sign-in tokens for QuickBooks are stored encrypted, and administrators must use two-factor sign-in.
How long we keep it
We keep account, product and billing information while you are a customer and for as long afterwards as we need it
for accounting, legal and dispute purposes. Invoices and payments remain in QuickBooks under our accounting records.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing
privacy@mrkhosting.com. We may need to keep some information, such as
billing records, where the law requires it.
Children
The Portal is for business customers and is not directed to children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The effective date above shows when it last changed.
